I hope this comes across as helpful and I will delete it if you wish. It seems that in recent readings, you are not having great luck at sprouting and all I'm gonna suggest for now is that you, if not already, put the peat pots directly onto the seed-starting mat, not hydrate anything any more as less H2O IS more when it comes to how much is too much and raise the temp. to 90 with perhaps a towel placed over it ALL. I recently have begun sprouting all things in ZL bags experimentally with a DRY Paper Towel with 1/2 TBSP., that's it, 1/2 TBSP. of H2O plopped onto the PT and the seeds, whether pre-H2O2d or not, placed on it next and the air squeezed out using a towel folded to the size of the ZL bag and a 9-inch pie plate 'slid' from bottom to top of the ZL bag under pressure and the bag (already almost-closed) sealed off in the movement. The H2O will infiltrate, spread around as to its attempt to evaporate and thus far, at in-front-of-a-heater-fan (120?) OR even room temperatures (72?) for newer seeds hanging from a door casing, I have very good results in recent years, experimentally. There are other things but ya gotta be unique in this world, lol.
PS---I also like to see the rounded edge of the seed if it's in SS Mix, always, so that I know when they jussssst start to sprout by the movement of them and a loosely-placed seed will have better 'breathing room' and it's not too late. [email protected] for comment removal, no problem and honestly, Good Luck with it working as it is!

The seeds that I was previously sprouting were at least 8 to 10 years old whereas the seeds I am sprouting in the peat pods are only three years old.

Also, the peat pots in the photo are set on a heat mat set to 85°F with a temperature probe inserted in one of the pots with a 6 inch high dome over top with vent holes. So, if I put a towel over top, it would trap too much moisture. The temperature reading gets up to 77°F. The seeds I'm currently sprouting that are not in the photo they are 10 to 11 years old. I am using the paper towel method on them. With 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide into 2 cups of warm water to dip the paper towels in rung out extra water. Placed the seeds on the paper towel folded up the paper towel place inside a Ziploc bag labeled each bag with each bag containing three seeds. Bags were placed in the same sea tray as the pots in the photo. The bags and the paper towels are changed each day, making sure to rinse off the seeds under running water. The seeds are from my 438 Chandler 15 and my 417 Chandler 16. I understand I have a learning curve with not growing giant pumpkins for nine years, but I'll try my best.

Not sure why I want to use abbreviated words there's weird characters that show up in the words.

Okay, thanks for the deets and good luck and so forth and it seems to be when an apostrophe is used, those funky characters show up. I think I'll mention it to him via an email now.
